Short Biography

  • Earned a Doctoral degree from Beihang University (BUAA) in 2003.

  • Completed postdoctoral research at Tsinghua University from 2004 to 2005.

  • Joined the School of Instrumentation Science and Opto-electronics Engineering, Beihang University in 2005.

  • Served as a Visiting Scholar at The City College of The City University of New York (CCNY), USA, from 2013 to 2014.

  • Research interests mainly focus on 3D vision measurement technologies (including point cloud data acquisition and processing) and applications in the intelligent manufacturing, and target perception & recognition technologies.

  • As Principal Investigator, has presided over 2 National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) projects, 1 National Key R&D Program project, and 8 provincial/municipal-level projects; as a core member, has participated in numerous national, provincial, and municipal-level projects. Published over 40 academic papers, holds more than 30 authorized invention patents and 2 software copyrights registration; has won 3 first-class Provincial/Municipal Science and Technology Awards, and co-authored 1 monograph.

Research Area 

Addressing the demands for high-precision and high-speed 3D vision measurement technologies in fields such as manufacturing, the research interests mainly focuses on non-contact 3D vision measurement technology and its applications.

Presided over more than 10 national and provincial/municipal-level projects, including National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), and National Key R&D Program projects; participated in over 20 national and provincial/municipal-level projects such as National Natural Science Foundation of China Key Programs and Special Instrument Projects; presided over more than 10 university-enterprise cooperation projects.

Published over 40 academic papers, holds more than 30 authorized patents and 2 software copyrights registration; won 3 first-class ministerial-level awards, and co-authored 1 monograph.

To address the problems of large volume of data, low processing efficiency, and low automation in 3D point cloud data for the manufacturing, a geometric feature-based 3D point cloud processing method was proposed to achieve rapid measurement; Developed a deep learning network to automatically complete the missing point cloud data; for the stitching of close-range images with large parallax, a grid optimization solution based on depth constraints and epipolar constraints was proposed to improve the stitching accuracy.

Be the member of China Society of Image and Graphics (CSIG), Deputy Secretary-General of the Special Committee on Visual Inspection (2017-2023) and the member of Chinese Optical Engineering Society (COES).
