Chao Liu is an associate professor of optical engineering at the School of Instrumentation and Optoelectronic Engineering, Beihang University. His research interests are liquid photonic devices and imaging technology. He has presided over 8 national and provincial projects. Chao Liu authored 1 book and published 91 papers, including 4 ESI papers, 1 ESI hot paper. He holds 1 U.S patents and 32 Chinese invention patents. He received the First Prize for Natural Science from the Chinese Society for Image and Graphics (ranked 2nd). He received Ph.D. degree from Sichuan University in 2016. He works as a lecturer at Taiyuan University of Technology from 2016 to 2018 and was a postdoctoral at Beihang University from 2018 to 2021.
