Short Biography

Dr. Baolei Liu is an Associate Professor at the School of Instrumentation and Optoelectronic Engineering, Beihang University. His research focuses on advanced computational optical imaging and detection technologies, including single-pixel imaging, diffuser-based cameras, fluorescence super-resolution microscopy, and on-chip spectroscopic imaging/detector devices, as well as their applications in biomedical, industrial, and physical research.

To date, he has published more than 40 scientific papers, including first- and corresponding- authored papers in Light: Science & Applications, Optica, Laser & Photonics Reviews, Nano Letters (×2), Advanced Science, Photonics Research, Optics Express, and Optics Letters, including four cover articles (see the website for details: https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Baolei-Liu/research). As a co-author, he has published related work in high-impact journals such as Nature Photonics, eLight, and Advanced Materials. He has more than 10 patents filed or granted, and has given invited oral presentations at academic conferences.

Dr. Liu received his PhD in Advanced Optical Imaging and Instrumentation from the University of Technology Sydney, Australia, in 2022. He then joined Beihang University as a Distinguished Postdoctoral Fellow/Assistant Professor (2022–2025) and was promoted to Associate Professor in 2025. He was selected for the Postdoctoral International Exchange Program (China Postdoctoral Science Foundation), and has led projects including the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) Youth Program, the Postdoctoral Science Foundation Special Grant and General Grant, as well as participated in key NSFC Joint Fund projects, among others.
