Zhuo Wang graduated with a Ph.D. from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2013. He worked as a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Electronic and Computer Engineering at the University of Alberta in Canada from 2013 to 2014. From 2014 to 2015, he served as a research assistant professor and postdoctoral researcher at the Fok Ying Tung Research Institute of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. Zhuo Wang is the Winner of the National Youth Talent Program 2015. He is currently the Head of the Department of Intelligent Perception Engineering, a professor and a doctoral supervisor at the School of Instrumentation and Optoelectronic Engineering, Beihang University.
Prof. Wang won the Second Prize of the Natural Science Award of the Chinese Association of Automation in 2024 (1/5); the Second Prize of Shandong Provincial Natural Science Award in 2024 (2/2); Honorary Title of the 7th Young Scientist of Chinese Association of Automation (CAA) in 2021; the First Prize in Natural Science (2/4) of the Ministry of Education of China in 2019; the Outstanding Paper Award (2/2) of the 17th Chinese Intelligent Systems Conference in 2022; the Best Paper Award (1st) of IEEE 8th Data Driven Control and Learning Systems Conference in 2019; the Best Paper Award (1st) of the 25th International Conference on Artificial Life and Robotics in 2020. As the doctoral supervisor, Prof. Wang and his students won the Best Student Paper Award of the 4th International Conference on Control and Robotics in 2022, the Best Student Paper Award of the 38th Youth Academic Annual Conference of CAA in 2023, as well as the First Prize Scholarship of China Instrument and Control Society.
Prof. Wang is a Member of Quantum Computing Systems and Control (QCSC) Technical Committee of The IEEE Control Systems Society, the Deputy Director of Standing Committee of the CAA Youth Work Committee, the Deputy Secretary-General of the Data Driven Control, Learning and Optimization Professional Committee of CAA, a Member of Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence (CAAI) the Autonomous Unmanned System Professional Committee. He serves as an Associate Editor of IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics: Systems; an Associate Editor of The International Journal of Intelligent Control and Systems; a Member of the Editorial Board of Acta Automatica Sinica, a Member of the Editorial Board of Control Theory & Applications, as well as a Member of the Editorial Board of Pattern Recognition and Artificial Intelligence.
