Teaching & Experiment Center (TEC) in the school of Instrumentation and Optoelectronic Engineering was established based on the disciplines. TEC is composed of four foundational labs and one innovation lab. The four foundational labs support the experimental education for all courses in field of advanced measurement, advanced navigation, optoelectronic engineering and remote sensing. The innovation lab services scientific research and competition for students.
TEC occupies 500 square meter construction area and installs over 800 sets of experimental equipment in support of foundational, comprehensive, innovative and characteristic experiment and teaching for both undergraduate and postgraduate. Furthermore, graduation projects, innovation activities and academic dissertations are also welcomed and can be guided.
TEC engages 5 full-time teachers with doctorate to assemble a high-level teaching team for the strong connection between theory and operation. Classroom teaching and experimental teaching are integrated to ensure the quality of college education. Experiment teaching system, including basic experiments, professional experiments, and innovation experiments, is established towards multlevel, comprehensiveness, openness, modularization, undergraduate- postgraduate integration and gradual process.
The target of TEC is, to research the key technology of instrumental products and optoelectronic products in national defense development and national economy promotion, to closely integrate experimental teaching, practical teaching and innovative talent training, to adhere to the teaching philosophy of “consolidating foundation, encouraging innovation, adjusting dynamically, and emphasizing characteristics”, to improve practical ability and cultivate innovative consciousness as a significant mission.
TEC has received a lot of support from several projects, such as “211”, “985”, “Quality Engineering” from Ministry of Education, “National Defense Scarce Major Construction” and “National Defense Key Major Construction”. With the strong support from school and Beihang University, Title of “Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center” was approved in 2012 and accepted in 2015 by Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. TEC also became a branch center of the “Aeronautical Science and Technology Virtual Simulation Experiment Center”, which belonged to “National Virtual Simulation Experiment Teaching Center” titled to Beihang University in 2013. Since 2015, with the continuous funding support of College Teaching Condition Improvement from national government, TEC has stepped into a further gorgeous phase.
