The "Sino-UK Space Science and Technology Joint Laboratory was established on November 8, 2007, at Beihang University. It is the first international cooperative laboratory in China's aerospace technology field. After its establishment, the joint laboratory has held the "China UK Space Science and Technology Workshop" alternately in the UK and China every year, and has held 14 sessions so far.

The Joint Laboratory of Space Science and Technology between China and the UK serves as a platform for cooperation between experts and technicians in the field of space science and technology, providing technical support for decision-making between the two countries' space agencies. The organization proposes scientific research and technology cooperation projects and related suggestions, and organizes relevant personnel to carry out collaborative research work; Assisting the space agencies of both countries in organizing academic conferences and forming specialized research groups, establishing cooperative relationships between personnel and institutions of both sides, and carrying out talent cultivation and other work.
